William Taylor teaches architectural design, history and theory at UWA. He has written on a range of subjects including the history and theory of the built environment and architecture and landscape project reviews. Recent work includes a major monograph The Vital Landscape, Nature and the Built Environment in Nineteenth-Century Britain (Ashgate, 2004) and an edited collection The Geography of Law, Landscape and Regulation (Hart, Oxford, 2006). Recent journal articles include a study of 19th century architect and geologist George Wilkinson for Etudes Irlandaises (Spring, 2005) and the architecture, politics and ethics accompanying the refurbishment of war memorials for Fabrications (December, 2005). He is currently engaged in a major interdisciplinary project looking at new possibilities for the study of architecture, philosophy and ethics.
